Don’t cry for me Argentina, part one

So I am in buenos aires, I am one of
Those travellers that like to research a certain aspect of the place before I visit, and being a vintage girl who better than Eva Peron?
Love her or hate her she was one remarkable woman. Born in a desperatly poor pueblo she lost her father early. She harboured the outrageous desire to be famous and left for the city in her teens.
She fought her way to fame via theatre and then radio, then fate intervened when she met colonel Juan Peron. Eva began to show her unquenchable thirst for power, she was the backbone of Peron, masterminding his presidency and ensuring she had influence over every part of government. She placed her family members in positions of power And through setting up a “charity” had control over all on buenos aires. She had an enormous wardrobe and on her famous ” rainbow tour” of Europe took her dressmaker and enough clothes for 4 changes per day. This is the dress she wore to receive the pope, I can’t help wondering what the pope thought of this ostentatious woman!
So I read up on her before arriving and yesterday visited her museum. The clothes were awesome, and the videos of her speeches changed my opinion if her somewhat. I initially thought she was a selfish , manipulative meglomaniac, and she most probably was, however I really saw the suffering in her, she died of uterine cancer at 33 and for the year before her death was in great pain and was denied her spot in the limelight that she so adored. And in the end what was the point of all her acquisitions? All her clothes meant nothing in the end.
Apologies… cant load photos just now, will do so soon

Wainuiomata rocks

I love my job.
On Monday I had two home visits in the delightful borough of wainuiomata. The upside to this is that I got to check out the op shop. This particular shop I have always felt holds great potential. On Monday this was realized.
Behold the bounty.

The first chocolate box opened the floodgates when the shop lady discovered I liked vintage. She bought me out the deerskin bag and then the second chocolate box.
Then I found this sleeping bag. Check out the wonderful lining.
I think I will take the lining out, what do you think I should do with it?
