Hair Prep for a vintage weekend

For the past two weekends I have had a stall at vintage fairs. Retro Vixens in Auckland and Atomic Market in Hamilton.

This has meant a resurgence in my hair curling.

I bought “Westmore beauty Book, a 1950’s guide..” from bramcost productions a few months ago and have adopted the setting pattern for oblong faces.

The book is great, very detailed, and gives you the setting pattern for every shape face.

Luckily my shape face lends itself to the setting pattern for PERFECT Rita Hayworth hair. Woohoo!

This is the setting pattern from a couple of angles…

After a good 3/4 hour brushing out ( no Im not kidding) and liberal pomade application, the effect is fab. I have found that it lasts me for 4 days. I can almost convince people that my hair is naturally curly.
