Op shop road trip and the world’s scariest doll

I thought I would do something in the way of public service today.
Us vintage Wellingtonians like to do op shop road trips, however it’s hard to find out where they all are and what their opening times are.
So for the sake of all mankind I thought I would selflessly (ha ha yeah right, i wouldnt recommend visting them in the next few days as Ive cleaned them out!!) do a road trip and publish the addresses and times, I will put them all on op shop directory too.

So I covered the Manawatu pretty much, starting in Otaki and ending in Palmerston North.
I chose Woodville over Fielding, which on hindsight was a bad move, apart from the fact that if I hadnt gone to Woodville I wouldnt have found Chucky’s Bride.
Is this not the scariest doll in the world?
Or this one maybe?
So here is the low down on the shops and their scores out of 10. I have only listed pure op shops, apart from two in Woodville as that is all that is there.

Eva’s Wardrobe

Sorry for the lack of posting, as I said I have been in South America.

I will blog about my vintage travels over the next few days.
Starting where we left off with Eva Peron.
So I was saying how Eva was a remarkable woman – both for good and for evil.
The highlight of her museum for me was of course the clothes.
She allegedly only wore her clothes once and during her famous tour of Europe she changed dresses four times a day. Imagine the excess baggage charges!
So here are a few pics of her dresses.
The black one is what she wore for an audience with the pope – the dress has a massive hood and train. I wonder what the poor pope thought, no doubt he was completely outdone in the costume department.
I love this suit and matching hat – and the accompanying photo of her in it.

And, the hats…….

Dont get me started on the hats!
